SPINY EEL is popularly known as tire-track SPINY EEL or zig-zag eel is a common fish species of Asia. SPINY EEL also called by Star Biam in Bangladeshi. SPINY EEL is an economically important fish, being sought after by local commercial fisheries.
Availability: It is distributed in rivers, canals, beels, ponds and inundated fields in the freshwater regimes throughout Bangladesh (Rahman 2005, Rahman and Akhter 2007, Ahmed 2008, Mahsin and Haque 2009, Galib et al. 2013, Ahmed et al. 2015).
