The species occurs in southern estuaries areas of the Bay of Bengal and their inter-tidal rivers to far inland freshwater parts of these rivers and tributaries lying at the south-east, south-west and central to north-west parts of Bangladesh (Fawzia et al. 2013, Mohsin et al. 2013).
